Swanky Socks and The Kids’ Cancer Project: Stitching together a storied partnership

2025-07-22

The Kids’ Cancer Project’s infamous socks are made by none other than the Sydney-based company Swanky Socks.

Worn by The Kids’ Cancer Project supporters, netball players on Crazy Hair and Sock Day or childhood cancer research advocates, the socks are an iconic piece of The Kids’ Cancer Project merchandise made better by Swanky’s expertise.

In recent times, Swanky Socks have increased their involvement with The Kids’ Cancer Project, attending our flagship Christmas for a Cure event and NSW Golf Days.

The company’s General Manager of Sales & Marketing, Tom Lawrence, says he was introduced to the charity by the parents of 2024 Better Challenge ambassador, Hugo Kulscar.

“I have enormous respect for both what The Kids’ Cancer Project stands for and the passionate teams behind it. They’re a driven, positive group with a clear focus on finding a cure for childhood cancer,” Tom says.

“The events themselves are always well-organised, engaging, and offer great insight into the incredible work happening within the community.

“They also provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded people from all over Australia who share a common passion for making a difference.”

Swanky Socks work directly with The Kids’ Cancer Project’s team on several activations, aiming to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research. Tom says the inspiration is tangible.

I’ve seen firsthand just how far the work of The Kids’ Cancer Project reaches. The stories of children and families who have faced cancer and come out the other side stronger are both heartbreaking and inspiring.

“Every bit of support helps improve the lives of kids and their families — and, crucially, fuels the ongoing research that’s vital to discovering better treatments and ultimately finding a cure.”

Tom says Swanky Socks are continuing to explore ways they can support The Kids’ Cancer Project, whether it be through activations or new creative initiatives.

Swanky Socks recently put a 12-month ‘sock subscription’ up for auction during Big Bids for Kids, featuring their super soft, Australian Merino wool fibre socks, which sold for $120!

The lucky bidder, Pip Smith, hails from NSW’s Central West. A consistent bidder in the auction since 202, Pip’s contributed thousands of dollars to childhood cancer research through her bids.

Tom’s support of The Kids’ Cancer Project is unwavering. He asks other like-minded businesses to come on board.

“If your organisation is passionate about supporting meaningful causes and partnering with like-minded people doing truly exceptional work, I can’t recommend TKCP highly enough.

“Aligning your business with them is not just an opportunity to make a real difference — it’s also a fantastic way to broaden your network, meeting passionate people from a wide range of industries and backgrounds.”
