How you can support research

Our dream is for no child to die from cancer

The Kids’ Cancer Project supports a holistic approach to research into childhood cancer from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship and beyond.

While government support has assisted many researchers and their projects over time, it is charities like The Kids’ Cancer Project that have been there from the very start.

Research is a multi-million-dollar industry, but here's why: every single dollar brings us closer to the dream of no child's life ending from cancer.

Just $108 can fund one of our researchers for two hours!

Our strategic pillars

Projects and their suitability are determined by the charity’s independent Research Advisory Committee, which offer their recommendations to The Kids’ Cancer Project board, who determine the studies funded.

Four strategic research pillars serve as a roadmap for directing funding towards research programs aligned with the strategic priorities and goals.

Four Strategic Pillars: Survival starts with science. That's why The Kids' Cancer Project invests in pioneering Australian scientists researching all types of childhood cancers across our priority pillars. 1. Discover - Hypothesis-driven innovative research that improves the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of childhood cancer. 2. Translate - High quality clinical research programs informed by the Discovery pillar. 3. Support - The aiding of children with cancer and their families with programs that reduce the long term effects of cancer treatment. 4. Build - The construction of resources, infrastructure and tool kits that will futureproof the childhood cancer research landscape.
