In the world of combating childhood cancer, partnerships are essential. They are the backbone of progress and a beacon of hope for children and families facing this devastating disease. That's why we at The Kids’ Cancer Project are incredibly grateful for our longstanding partnership with RAMS Home Loans.

Since 2018, RAMS has been an invaluable ally in our mission to fund ground-breaking research aimed at finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for childhood cancer. They have raised over $412,000 over a seven-year partnership! Together, we've achieved remarkable milestones and made a tangible difference in the lives of young cancer patients.

RAMS: A Heartfelt Commitment to Making a Difference

"The opportunity to play a role in developing more effective treatments for children battling cancer fills us with a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment,” says Danielle Kean, Head of Marketing at RAMS, when asked about their partnership with The Kids’ Cancer Project.

But RAMS’ dedication goes beyond mere financial support; it's about making a meaningful impact in the fight against childhood cancer.

"Understanding that our support is helping drive progress in pediatric oncology, and potentially improving outcomes and quality of life for young cancer patients, is truly inspiring,” say Danielle.

“Every dollar invested in research is a step closer to finding better treatments, increasing survival rates, and ultimately, finding a cure, and we are proud to be a part of that."

Memorable Moments and Shared Commitment

Reflecting on their partnership, RAMS says there have been numerous memorable experiences and successful fundraising events that have left a lasting impact.

The spirited camaraderie of the annual Autumn Charity Golf Day – which they have sponsored a number of times – is a particular favourite.

“One of our favourite annual events has been the annual Autumn Charity Golf Day, which brings together golf enthusiasts and philanthropists alike for a day of friendly competition and fundraising,” says Danielle.

“The camaraderie on the golf course, coupled with the shared commitment to supporting kids' cancer research, makes this event particularly special. It's heartening to see individuals and businesses come together to make a difference.”

Another cherished and much enjoyed event is the annual Christmas 4 A Cure luncheon.

“This festive gathering not only provides an opportunity to come together in the spirit of giving but also serves as a reminder of the importance of generosity and compassion during the holiday season. The joy and warmth shared among attendees, coupled with their generosity in supporting cancer research, make this event truly magical,” she says.

Danielle highlights that it's often the stories of courage and perseverance, shared by young cancer patients and their families at these events, which truly inspire and motivate the RAMS team.

“Their resilience in the face of adversity serves as a constant reminder of why our support is so important and motivates us to continue our efforts,” she says.

She emphasises the significance of these events, stating: "Each and every fundraising event has been special in its own way, reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact in the fight against childhood cancer."

They also emphasise how grateful they are for the opportunity “to be part of such meaningful initiatives.”

While Danielle admits cancer is a serious topic – she says The Kids’ Cancer Project team always “find the light in this dark place to bring maximum energy to events, which highly motivate the staff at RAMS to get involved as we work towards a common purpose; supporting children and families affected by cancer.

“When we get together and participate, whether it be online fundraising, the Better Challenge or at a golf day, it provides a real sense of camaraderie as we are personally contributing to such an important and worthy cause.

“These events also help spread awareness, provide great networking opportunities and a chance to make meaningful connections outside of the workplace.”

Fostering Hope and Making a Real Impact

Ultimately, RAMS says their partnership with TKCP isn't just about raising funds; it's about fostering hope and making a real impact in the lives of children with cancer.

“As a starting point, we want to be able to help give families hope. Hope that by knowing there is available funding to enable scientists to work continuously on developing treatments for their child with cancer. Hope that with continuous funding it’s possible that a cure be found and, hope that one day their child will come home with them cancer free.

Join Us in Making a Difference

To organisations considering supporting childhood cancer research, RAMS encourages you to join The Kids’ Cancer Project in our mission. According to RAMS, "TKCP's transparency and inspiring vision make partnering with them a privilege."

Danielle says one of her favourite things about The Kids’ Cancer Project is the transparency about where their fundraising efforts are being directed and to organisations considering supporting The Kids’ Cancer Project, she says the impact of your contribution is tangible and transformative.

“It’s clear that the money RAMS donates is going towards scientific research and development of kids’ cancer treatments, which really helps put into perspective the difference you are helping to make.

“They provide multiple opportunities throughout the year to get involved with no pressure to reach any number or milestone. TKCP are a lovely group of people who are easy to work with, have an inspiring vision and make the charity work feel like a privilege.”
