This year, 54 Netball NSW Associations came together to raise an incredible $58,370 for childhood cancer research, helping The Kids’ Cancer Project fund research into kinder treatments and better outcomes for children with cancer.
From wild hairstyles to bright, mismatched socks, players and supporters swapped their usual gameday look for something a little more colourful – and turned their love of netball into meaningful support for kids and families facing cancer.
Every dollar raised through Crazy Hair & Sock Day helps support research that could make a difference for children with cancer.
The $58,370 raised this year could help all Australian paediatric oncology hospitals open one new clinical trial, giving more children with cancer access to new treatment options.
Clinical trials are an important part of improving childhood cancer treatment, helping researchers and doctors explore new approaches and find treatments that are more effective and kinder for children.
A huge congratulations to Randwick Netball Association and Sutherland Shire Netball Association, who each raised more than $12,000 through their Crazy Hair & Sock Day activations.
Their incredible fundraising, alongside the efforts of Associations, players, families and supporters across Netball NSW, has helped make this year's campaign such a success. Crazy Hair & Sock Day is about having fun and showing team spirit – but behind every colourful sock and crazy hairstyle is a community standing with children with cancer.
