Every research dollar invested by The Kids' Cancer Project follows a robust, independent funding process designed to maximise its impact for children with cancer.
Through our competitive national grants program, applications undergo a thorough peer-reviewed process led by the organisation's independent Research Advisory Committee – a panel of nationally and internationally recognised experts spanning discovery, translational and supportive care.
Projects are then assessed for scientific excellence, innovation, feasibility and their potential to improve survival and quality of life. Funding recommendations are then provided to the Board of Directors for approval. Once funded, every project is monitored through regular scientific and financial reporting to ensure accountability and help to guide future research investment.
The Kids’ Cancer Project also works alongside like-minded funding partners to co-fund high-impact research, extending the reach of every dollar donated to accelerate breakthroughs that will help more children survive and thrive after a cancer diagnosis.

Once projects are funded, researchers provide regular scientific and financial progress reports so we can monitor progress, track outcomes and ensure funds are used as intended.
Together with clear policies, conflict-of-interest management, external auditing and annual public reporting, this provides donors, funding partners and the research community confidence that every investment is managed responsibly and invested where it can have the greatest impact.
