The Kids’ Cancer Project is incredibly grateful to the BSR Group and its community for helping make a difference for children with cancer.

BSR hosted its 2026 National Conference and Buying Expo at Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast, welcoming more than 300 delegates for a celebration of 20 years of the BSR Group and 65 years of Betta.

As the charity partner for the event, The Kids’ Cancer Project had the opportunity to connect with BSR’s franchisee community and share how their support can help fund vital childhood cancer research. Since becoming an official corporate partner last year, the BSR Group has contributed more than $173,000 to support The Kids’ Cancer Project.

There was plenty of enthusiasm for the Better Challenge, our 90km challenge encouraging participants to walk or run 3km a day for 30 days. Betta came on board as the campaign’s naming rights partner in 2025, helping further the impact of donations made throughout the challenge. Attendees at the conference also had the chance to visit our bear stand, where they could purchase a bear to take home or donate a bear to a child spending time in hospital.

Together, the BSR community raised an incredible $53,669 for The Kids’ Cancer Project on the day, including a generous $30,000 donation from BSR. Following the event, Jason Masters from Kennedys Betta in Cairns personally delivered the bears he donated at the conference to children in the Cairns Paediatric Oncology Ward.

The look on the kids’ faces when they knew they could keep the bears is what makes it all worthwhile.

We’re incredibly thankful to BSR, Betta and their franchisee community for welcoming us into their conference, getting behind the Better Challenge and helping us bring a little more comfort, hope and possibility to children with cancer.
