Write a Book in a Day is on display!

2025-11-10
Our inaugural Write a Book in a Day exhibit on display at the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

The Kids’ Cancer Project is delighted to have created its first-ever Write a Book in a Day exhibition in conjunction with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, located at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

Featuring books created by local schools in 2025 as well as winners from previous years, the exhibition will be accessed by hospital patients, families and staff passing through the hospital, creating a wonderful opportunity for readers to witness the creativity on show of writers around the country looking to brighten a child with cancer’s day.

The Kids’ Cancer Project’s Head of Campaigns, Kimberley Chapple, says she is ecstatic to see the exhibition up and running.

"On behalf of The Kids' Cancer Project, I would like to thank the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation for helping us to make this exhibition possible,” she says.

“We tell the participants of Write a Book in a Day to create something great after signing up, all while helping us to re-write survival rates.

“I can personally attest to the quality on show within the exhibit, and hope that the patients of Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick enjoy the books and be transported to the writer’s world of creativity and hope.”

The exhibition, located above the Plume Cafe will be open at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick until mid-November. The Kids’ Cancer Project is hoping to take the exhibition to other hospitals around Australia.
