The Kids’ Cancer Project is celebrating the success of partnering with the City of Sydney for their Sydney Lunar Festival in 2026, engaging with more than 20,000 visitors and raising over $2,000 for childhood cancer research.
Taking full advantage of a storied calendar of events, the charity was on hand during both the Sydney Lunar Streets and Family Fun Weekend programs, raising funds and awareness for vital childhood cancer research.
A sum of $2,000 will cover clinical trial consultations for multiple children, providing access to specialised knowledge to improve treatment outcomes.
The Kids’ Cancer Project CEO, Owen Finegan, says the role of being Official Charity Partner for the largest Lunar New Year festival outside Asia was a wonderful opportunity.
“On behalf of The Kids’ Cancer Project, I would like to thank Lord Mayor Clover Moore, the City of Sydney, our incredible volunteers, prize sponsors and the general public for their support of our charity and childhood cancer research this Sydney Lunar Festival,” he says.
“Events like these provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with the Australian-Asian community regarding our mission and vision. We’re proud to have played a role in one of Sydney’s biggest celebrations and look forward to strengthening our bond with the City of Sydney and their community in the future.”
