The Kids’ Cancer Project is delighted to confirm it has been named as the official charity partner of the City of Sydney’s Sydney Lunar Festival, giving the childhood cancer research charity a lofty platform at high profile events to advocate for childhood cancer research.

After first lodging a proposal to the City of Sydney, The Kids’ Cancer Project were selected due to their work in funding and advocating for childhood cancer research. Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO, says that the work of the charity cannot be understated.

“These valuable organisations are out there working every day to benefit local communities,” the Lord Mayor says.

“Our big summer events are great fun and they’re also a wonderful opportunity for charities doing important work to reach a big, and no doubt generous, audience.”

The Kids’ Cancer Project CEO, Owen Finegan, says he is delighted with the outcome.

“On behalf of The Kids’ Cancer Project, I would like to thank the City of Sydney for selecting our charity as the official partner of the Sydney Lunar Festival celebrations,” he says.

“This will allow us to continue our work in raising awareness and funds for vital childhood cancer research on one of Sydney’s biggest stages.”

The Sydney Lunar Festival will be held from 14 February to 1 March 2026.
