Cute little kids and big kids at heart embraced their inner scally-wag and hosted Pirate Day events across Australia on 10 June 2016 to help kids with brain cancer.
Now in its second year, Pirate Day is a national fundraising initiative raising awareness to support childhood brain cancer research.
Goodstart Early Learning, Bondi West, and Bayer Pharmaceutics in Sydney joined more than 450 schools and businesses across the nation to host a pirate themed dress up day for a gold coin donation.
Goodstart Early Learning were joined by the Party Pirates who kicked festivities off with lots of “Arggghhhhs” and “Ahoys!”
Bayer Australia employees including General Manager, Nelson Ambrogio, made a huge effort to dress up and raised an incredible $4,400!

Funds raised will be donated to The Kids' Cancer Project and The Telethon Adventurers, both funding cutting edge research in to childhood brain cancer.
Brain cancer accounts for approximately twenty per cent of all cancers diagnosed in children. Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumours are cancers of the brain and brain stem. They are the most common solid tumours and they have the highest mortality rate of all childhood cancers.
“The only way to change this is to get more funding for research. The only way to achieve this is by making the community and in turn our governments aware about the severity and the absolutely horrific impact it has on children and families,” said Nathan Colgan, Founder of Pirate Day.
