The Kids’ Cancer Project is thrilled to continue as the charity partner of Netball NSW / NSW Swifts under a new three year agreement.

“This partnership is important to our strategic direction because it enables us to engage with the community through official events and the netball community throughout NSW,” said CEO of The Kids’ Cancer Project, Owen Finegan.

This is an extremely valuable relationship because it helps us raise awareness that children with cancer need our help and together we can fund world-best medical research,” said Owen.

The partnership is now in its eighth year with 2016 shaping up to be even more successful than before. According to Netball NSW General Manager – Commercial, Tristan Prosser-Shaw, the partnership will continue to grow supporting more childhood cancer research.

“We are right behind the amazing work of The Kids’ Cancer Project and helping kids with cancer through research. Our aim is to eclipse 2015 by inspiring all our one hundred and eighteen affiliated associations to join in the planned activities, including our dedicated fundraising event Crazy Hair & Sock Day.

“The NSW netball community has raised more than $175,000 and last year a record forty one netball associations participated in Crazy Hair and Sock Day raising $45, 000,” said Tristan.

Planned activities are scheduled at The NSW Swifts’ Round 6 home game against the Central Pulse on Sunday 8 May; Netball NSW’s largest grassroots event, the State Age Championships and NSW Netball Associations’ Crazy Hair & Sock Day on 14 May.

Owen Finegan affirmed, “Together with Netball NSW / NSW Swifts we will support ground-breaking research to find a cure for some of the rarest childhood cancers and improve treatments to lessen the side-effects faced by children who survive cancer.”

“We sincerely thank Netball NSW / The NSW Swifts and the wider NSW netball community for its continued support and look forward to another action-packed and successful season ahead!” Finegan concluded.
