Fitz’s Challenge is not a cycle race, it’s more of an (*cough*) uphill battle. But don’t let that put you off. You’ll be in a fully supported environment. So grab your mates and choose one of the five courses below to put some bragging rights in your pannier.
The Kids' Cancer Project has been the official charity partner of Fitz's Challenge since 2009. Cyclists participating in the event have raised more than $333,000 to date for childhood cancer research.
Event organisers Pedal Power ACT have created a diversity of courses to enable cyclists to choose the challenge most appropriate for their fitness level, while experiencing Canberra's picturesque countryside firsthand.
Fitz's Challenge is an inclusive cycling event and open to riders 12 years and up (riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
The event is renowned for the amount of challenging, but achievable climbing required within each distance. The more advanced distances require participants to ride up Fitz's Hill as part of their course, which is how the event originally got its name.
Conquering Fitz's will be the highlight of your year. Do it and be a hero for kids with cancer.
