The dress up idea was originally introduced by Netball NSW in 2011 as a fun and easy way for players, umpires, officials and spectators to dress up and fundraise for The Kids’ Cancer Project without impacting playing uniforms or disrupting play.
Crazy Hair & Sock Day quickly became a signature fundraising event on the netball calendar and an important way for The Kids’ Cancer Project to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. In 2017, netballers along with their friends, family and fans raised over $53,000.
