Seven-year-old Declan Kane has been fighting an aggressive childhood cancer called neuroblastoma for the last four years.

His Dad, Simon and a team of supporters are raising funds and awareness this September – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by travelling six hundred kilometres on motorised scooters dressed as super heroes.

Declan’s parents were given the news every cancer parent fears in January 2015, Declan had relapsed and had a twenty percent chance of beating his cancer for a second time. Determined to find help for their son, Simon and Kim came across a clinical trial in Sydney NSW, thankfully Declan was eligible.

“Had the trial not been available, Declan would not be here today. I’ve seen first-hand what has helped him survive and what will help kids with cancer in the future. It’s research,” said Simon.

Starting on the 1st September, over ten days the team will wear ten different superhero costumes travelling through rural Western Australia.

“We’re looking forward to meeting local communities and raising funds and awareness for kids’ fighting cancer,” said Simon.

“100 per cent of the funds raised will be going to The Kids’ Cancer Project," Kim said. "We chose this charity because of their dedication towards funding research for all childhood cancers."
