Our dedicated partners and donors continue to impress us at The Kids’ Cancer Project.

In a few short hours, one morning in April, 53 enthusiastic employees across Austral Mercantile offices in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne raised $11,000.

“Staff sold mini teddy bears, wrists bands and called clients, suppliers, friends and family to secure donations for The Kids’ Cancer Project,” explained Owen Finegan, Chief Executive of The Kids’ Cancer Project.

The team is part of the QBE Insurance Group and their efforts were generously added to by the QBE Foundation who donated $5,000 to contribute towards the charity's 2017 research commitment and beyond.

The QBE Foundation has supported The Kids’ Cancer Project since 2012, contributing over $350,000 to childhood cancer research.

"The QBE Foundation is incredibly proud of partnering with a charity that is making such a significant contribution to finding a cure for childhood cancer," said Sally Kincaid, QBE Australia Foundation Chair.

"The team at The Kids’ Cancer Project always make it a priority to ensure we have an opportunity to see firsthand the difference our support is making to sick children and their families, which continues to inspire our people.” she said.

QBE staff have volunteered hundreds of hours over the years and were valuable in helping fund the DFMO Project.

Watch Declan, aged 7, ringing the bell at the end of his treatment at Sydney Children’s Hospital last month, also attended by QBE staff.

“We love working with partners with strong corporate responsibility who truly engage their community to make a difference,” said Finegan.
